BEIJING, Apr. 16 -- General He Weidong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission (CMC), met with General Víctor Rojo Ramos, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and chief of the Political Directorate of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, in Beijing on April 15.
General He Weidong said that China and Cuba enjoy ever-lasting and unbreakable friendship, and the two parties and two countries shoulder the lofty mission of building and developing socialism. In recent years, the two sides have actively promoted cooperation in various fields and achieved fruitful results in accordance with the strategic blueprint drawn by the two heads of state. China highly appreciates Cuba's firm support on issues involving China's core interests, and will continue to firmly support Cuba in safeguarding sovereign independence and national dignity, as well as in resolutely opposing interference by external forces in internal affairs.
General He Weidong also made it clear that China is willing to share the successful experience of Chinese modernization with Cuba, continue to provide Cuba with assistance within its capacity, support the development of the Cuban military, and work together to build a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
General Rojo firstly conveyed the greetings and salutes from the Party and State leaders of Cuba. He emphasized that Cuba will never forget China's long-term sincere assistance in all aspects and will continue to consolidate the special friendship between the two parties and two countries, firmly adhere to the one-China principle, jointly oppose hegemony and bullying, and better benefit the two countries and peoples.
