Hospital ship Peace Ark leaves Solomon Islands for Timor-Leste

PEACE ARK, Aug. 28 -- Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark concluded its first visit to the Solomon Islands at noon on August 26, leaving for Timor-Leste, the last stop of the Harmonious Mission 2023.

During its visit to the Solomon Islands, Peace Ark provided free medical service to the local people and overseas Chinese. It also sent multiple medical teams to carry out medical service, critical disease consultation and academic exchange there, with a total of more than 10,000 patients treated, and 31 operations of cesarean section, breast mass excision, pterygium excision and cataract aspiration conducted.

Additionally, troops aboard the hospital ship also visited local schools and police forces to carry out cultural and sports exchanges.

Timor-Leste is the fifth and last stop of the Harmonious Mission 2023. The hospital ship Peace Ark is now sailing to Port of Dili, Timor-Leste, planning to pay a seven-day visit and provide medical service there.
