BEIJING, March 22 -- An aviation regiment under the PLA Southern Theater Command received an order to conduct an aerial refueling mission for fighter jets formation one day. Before taking off, the airport was stricken by a thunderstorm, while three HY-6 aerial refueling tankers took off as scheduled. Braving thunder and lightning,the pilots flied through cumulonimbus clouds, rushed to the temporary refueling airspace, and completed the refueling mission at a height of nearly 10,000 meters.
