BEIJING, Aug. 11 -- Recent continuous heavy rainfall caused the river level to rise and resulted in the damage of roads and bridges in Beishimen Village, Fangshan District, Beijing. On August 8, a construction engineering brigade assigned to the 82nd Group Army with the Chinese PLA Central Theater Command received the order for support. In less than three hours, a mechanized bridge of 51 meters in length and four meters in width was successfully constructed.
