Chinese peacekeepers in Lebanon obtain mine clearance and EOD quality certification

BEIJING, Jan. 2 -- The 52 members of the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Troops to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) passed the mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) quality assessment conducted by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) recently. The evaluation was carried out at a mine clearance training ground in the village of Hanniyah in southern Lebanon, focusing on more than 30 items in 13 subjects including mine detector test, mine-sweeping path opening, and mine disposal. Obtaining the quality certification marks the formal initiation of the mine clearance mission of the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Troops to UNIFIL.
