Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion in South Sudan completes joint patrol

BEIJING, Jan. 3 -- Recently, the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), together with the United Nations integrated task team, completed the long-distance joint patrol from South Sudan's capital city Juba to Lainya and Ueli regions. This was the first task completed by the 10th peacekeeping infantry battalion since its deployment.

The task lasted for three days and two nights, covering nearly 200 kilometers round trip, for which the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion had dispatched guard, medical service, maintenance, and other specialized troops and equipment. They also carried out humanitarian relief activities in local villages during the patrol.
