BEIJING, May 7 -- Recently, a naval service ship group under the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command conducted a training exercise on sea-air multi-dimensional joint search and rescue in waters of the South China Sea, with the hospital ship Youai (Hull 861), the landing ship Huashan (Hull 945) and the ship-borne helicopter unit involved. The exercise aimed to evaluate the troops' support capabilities such as organization, command, coordination, maritime search and rescue, treatment and evacuation.
