BEIJING, Feb. 9 -- Before the Spring Festival, Chinese Lunar New Year, new recruits assigned to a border defense company under the Chinese PLA Xizang Military Command set out on their way to patrol the border area at the foot of the Himalayas in northwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.
By climbing over the snow-capped mountains, they learned their first lesson of border patrol: why bruises and sprains are the most common patrol injuries.
Nevertheless, they persisted.
They know who they are patrolling for, and that makes them proud.
