BEIJING, Apr. 8 -- On April 3, local time, the China International Search and Rescue Team, with participation from the Chinese military, together with the China Search and Rescue Team, Shenzhen Public Welfare Rescue Team, and other Chinese rescue forces, conducted a joint medical outreach mission in Mandalay, Myanmar.

At the resettlement site near the University of Medicine in Mandalay, the rescue team deployed a medical outreach team consisting of 16 specialist doctors. They offered consultations in 14 medical fields, including internal medicine, surgery and gynecology & pediatrics. Using mobile diagnostic equipment such as bedside electrocardiogram (ECG) machines, handheld ultrasound devices, and portable X-ray machines, the team treated over 250 affected individuals.

Doctors distributed medications on-site to the local residents, including those for infection control, asthma relief, pain management, and blood pressure regulation. Concurrently, they carried out educational campaigns on disease prevention.

On March 28, a powerful earthquake struck Myanmar, causing extensive damage to buildings in the Mandalay area. The China International Search and Rescue Team has completed more than 80,000 square meters of environmental disinfection and has been providing round-the-clock medical support for both rescue personnel and affected residents. The rescue operation is still ongoing with intense efforts.
