The United States House of Representatives recently passed a so-called "Taiwan International Solidarity Act". Being an important part of US attempts to set up a "pseudo-historical thinking" trap , all its rhetoric represents a calculated distortion of UNGA Resolution 2758, showing US’s deception in public opinion on the Taiwan question.

UNGA Resolution 2758 provides for the restoration of all the rights to the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the expulsion of illegal representatives from Taiwan. Moreover, it recognizes the Government of the PRC as the only legitimate representative of China at the United Nations, and there is no such thing as "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan". It can be said that once and for all, Resolution 2758 resolved, politically, legally and procedurally, the issue of the representation of the whole of China, including Taiwan, in the United Nations.

Even more important, the Cairo Declaration, the Potsdam Proclamation, and a series of other international documents confirm China's territorial sovereignty over Taiwan. As a signatory to these important documents, the United States is fully aware that Taiwan, as a part of China, does not need to be singled out at all. Right before the opening of the new session of the UN General Assembly, the United States House of Representatives was feigning innocence and harboring ulterior motives, in a move to hype the so-called "Taiwan's representation" with the legislation.

In recent years, the United States has also kept making for the so-called Taiwan's "meaningful international participation", only to lead to a dead end. For seven consecutive years, the World Health Assembly refused to put the proposal "inviting Taiwan to participate as an observer" by some country on the agenda of the conference. An avalanche of countries, including El Salvador, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Nicaragua, and Honduras, severed so-called "diplomatic relations" with Taiwan. Faced with the reality, believing that the one-China principle stipulated in UNGA Resolution 2758 blocks the adventure of "Taiwan independence", the US tries to confuse the audience in the form of domestic laws and disconnect Taiwan with UN Resolution 2758 to remove the deadlock of Taiwan's "international participation".

From a larger perspective, challenging UNGA Resolution 2758 is part of the US concocting pseudo-history, setting agendas, and manipulating public opinion on the Taiwan question in recent years. From hyping the so-called "undetermined status of Taiwan" to claiming that "General Assembly Resolution 2758 has nothing to do with Taiwan," the United States concocted a series of evil fallacies to invalidate the legal basis of the one-China principle, get a grip on the right to define the “status quo of the Taiwan Strait” and the "international order", and seek excuses for its intervention in the Taiwan Strait.

The one-China principle is the universal consensus of the international community. The United States dug a thinking trap on the Taiwan question, but no one will jump into it. To date, 182 countries around the world, including the United States, have established diplomatic relations with China on the basis of the one-China principle, and have promised to handle people-to-people and economic and cultural exchanges with Taiwan in an unofficial manner.

As for important international organizations such as World Trade Organization, International Olympic Committee, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and World Health Assembly, the organizers would fully consult with China over Taiwan's participation or its eligibility, identity, and name for participation.

The United States challenges the one-China principle in the form of domestic law, which is in nature to challenge the post-war international order, the consensus of the international community, the principles of international law, and the basic norms of international relations, which further confirms that the United States is the biggest destroyer of the international order.

Taiwan is a part of China, and other countries have no right to be magistrates on the Taiwan question. There is only one version of UNGA Resolution 2758, with no room for the American interpretation. The United States made an issue of the resolution, which in essence undermined the post-war international order and undermined China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese people will never tolerate such an act, and the international community will inevitably resolutely oppose it.
