BEIRUT, Jan. 16 -- The 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) conducted a joint medical drill with the Spanish peacekeeping troops on January 12 to examine and promote their emergency relief and collaborative support capabilities. This is the first time that the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to UNIFIL has carried out a joint drill with foreign troops since it completed its rotational deployment.

The drill was set in the scenario of a traffic accident that occurred to the Spanish peacekeeping troops during maneuver, and the Chinese peacekeeping hospital was responsible for transferring and treating the wounded. The two sides conducted practical drills on on-site first aid, hospital treatment, security defense, etc.

The Chinese Peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to the UNIFIL is responsible for the medical support for the multinational UN personnel of the UNIFIL Sector East. Since its rotation in December 2023, the medical contingent has received more than 300 patients and completed an emergency defense drill, earning positive appraisal from the UN, peacekeeping troops of other countries and the local people.
