BEIJING, Aug. 23 -- After receiving 2024-2025 annual engineering construction tasks from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in mid-August, the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Construction Engineering Company to the UNIFIL arrived at three working sites for engineering construction on August 20 and 21.

According to the construction plan, the contingent would undertake 20 annual engineering construction tasks consecutively, including 12 tasks near the Blue Line between Lebanon and Israel. These tasks are characterized by limited time, high risks and difficult construction operations.

It is learned that the Chinese Peacekeeping Construction Engineering Company is the only fully organized construction engineering contingent to the UNIFIL. It mainly undertakes basic engineering construction, defense works construction and repair, Blue Line boundary marker erection, humanitarian assistance and other tasks.

Up to now, the contingent has completed 44 construction tasks such as the construction of protective wall with gabion boxes and the upgrading and renovation of camp defense works with high standards, earning unanimous praise from the UNIFIL headquarters and friendly peacekeeping troops.
