Peacekeepers of the 27th Chinese Peacekeeping Engineering Company to the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) conduct road repair.

BUKAVU, Jan. 11 -- Recently, heavy rainfall in Bukavu city of South Kivu province, DRC, caused a landslide about 5 kilometers away from the "China Peninsula" camp, disrupting traffic and trapping three vehicles of the local government troops.

Upon receiving the rescue request, the 27th Chinese Peacekeeping Engineering Company to the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) immediately dispatched personnel and equipment to the site to provide rescue.

After more than an hour of emergency rescue, the road was cleared and traffic was resumed. The Chinese peacekeepers' rapid and efficient rescue efforts won them high praise from the government troops.
