Chinese naval ships wrap up visit to Bangladesh

DHAKA, Oct. 16 -- The Chinese naval training ship Qi Jiguang (Hull 83) and amphibious dock landing ship Jinggangshan (Hull 999) wrapped up their goodwill visit to Bangladesh and departed for Singapore on Tuesday.

During the three-day visit, the commander of the Chinese naval taskforce called on the Commander Chattogram Naval Area, Commander of Chattogram Fleet, and Chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority, and was invited to attend the reception held by the Bangladeshi side. Representatives of Chinese officers, soldiers and midshipmen visited Bangladeshi naval ship, the Bangladesh Naval Academy, training center, and naval hospital and held discussions and exchanges.

A deck reception was held on the ship Qi Jiguang, and Bangladeshi military and local leaders, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, and representatives of overseas Chinese were invited to participate to further deepen the mutual understanding and promote the friendship between the two sides.

After leaving the port, the ships Qi Jiguang and Jinggangshan conducted joint drills with Bangladeshi navy.
