WAU, South Sudan, Jan. 26 -- The 15th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) conducted a comprehensive emergency defense drill on January 21, local time.
Set in the context of being under armed harassment, the drill proceeded in different simulated scenarios including fighting against armed assault, conducting emergency evacuation, rescue, withdrawal and coordinated support.
In recent days, the security situation in South Sudan has further deteriorated. The 15th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the UNMISS has maintained combat readiness, while repairing and strengthening various defensive fortifications.
