CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited won the bidding for the construction of a maritime patrol vessel for the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration, the company wrote on its website on Friday.
The ship will be China's first patrol vessel with over 10,000 tonnage. It will be used to patrol surrounding waters and conduct emergency rescue work.
The ship is expected to be delivered in about 30 months.
Helicopters can take off and land on the ship at night. The ship can accommodate 100 people and rescue 200 others.
The bidding price offered by Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding is 676 million yuan ($102 million).
China's current largest patrol ship is Haixun01 built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group. With gross tonnage of 6,645 tons, the ship is in service at the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration.
