The second KMT-CPC cooperation and the formation of the Chinese United Front against Japanese Aggression were of great significance to the comprehensive unfolding of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
On July 15, Zhou Enlai, on behalf of CPC, presented to Chiang Kai-shek the Proclamation of the CPC Central Committee on KMT-CPC Cooperation, reaffirming its four commitments in order to achieve bipartisan cooperation.
With CPC’s active advocacy, KMT’s Central News Agency published the Proclamation on September 22. The next day, Chiang Kai-shek delivered a speech in which he admitted de-facto the legitimate position of the CPC.
The CPC’s Proclamation and Chiang Kai-shek speech announced the second cooperation between the two parties and the formation of the Chinese United Front against Japanese Aggression. This was of great importance for the full-blown unfolding of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
