BEIJING, March 6 -- The delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the People’s Armed Police Force (PAP) deliberated the government work report on the afternoon of March 5. General Zhang Youxia, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), and He Weidong, Member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Vice Chairman of the CMC, attended the group deliberation respectively.
General Zhang Youxia pointed out that the whole military should stick to the achievement of goals set for the centenary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and further modernize national defense and the military. It is an urgent need to pay even closer attention to the building of combat effectiveness, speed up preparations for military struggle (PMS), foster the construction of a new-type military training system, and promote the construction and application of the network information system.
General He Weidong pointed out that China should unswervingly follow the road of building a strong military with Chinese characteristics and accelerate the realization of high-quality development of the military. China should strengthen Party organizations in the people’s armed forces and make unremitting efforts to combat corruption in the military.
