"In the new era, military training always features new technology. At the front end of the combat system, we are not only the participants of technology application, but also the innovators of these technologies," said Lieutenant Colonel Chen Song, a deputy to China's National People's Congress (NPC) and the battalion commander of a brigade under the Chinese PLA 73rd Group Army, adding that his brigade has successfully completed the construction of a digital training ground.
After serving as the battalion commander, Chen Song has mastered the use of 12 different weapons and equipment within just over a year. Under his leadership, his battalion succeeded in accomplishing the intensive transformation task, bringing the combat capabilities of the battalion to a higher level.
In addition, he also led the battalion to conduct collective research on the combat employment of unmanned platforms, applied for 6 patents, and achieved a set of innovative achievements in tactics.
Under the coordination and arrangement of higher authorities, Chen organized the battalion to undertake joint training with troops from Army aviation, Navy, Air Force and other service branches every year to forge real combat capabilities.
According to Chen, in this year's National People's Congress, he will put forward proposals on enhancing the psychological construction for the military members, so as to help them overcome negative emotions and improve training enthusiasm.
