BEIJING, Apr. 25 -- "According to the consensus between Chinese and Bangladeshi militaries, the PLA army will send a team to Bangladesh in the first half of May to hold joint Army exercise codenamed 'golden friendship-2024' with the Bangladeshi army," said Senior Colonel Wu Qian, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, at a regular press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Wu also introduced that the joint exercise will take UN peacekeeping counter-terrorism operations as the scenario, and the two militaries will conduct joint training in mixed groups on subjects including anti-hijacking on the bus, terrorists camp elimination, etc.
"It is the first time for the Chinese and Bangladeshi militaries to conduct joint training," said the spokesperson, noting that it will enhance mutual understanding and friendship, and deepen practical exchanges and cooperation.
