TOKYO, May 14 (Xinhua) -- A Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) training jet reportedly disappeared from radar while flying near Inuyama City in Aichi Prefecture on Wednesday, local media cited multiple sources within the Ministry of Defense as saying.
Local fire departments reported receiving emergency calls shortly after 3 p.m. local time, stating that an aircraft-like object had crashed into a pond in the area, according to national broadcaster NHK.
The aircraft is believed to have two people on board, the report said.
Police and emergency services are currently investigating the situation to confirm details of the incident.
