BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Thanks to the joint efforts by the government and enterprises, China's online population faced fewer cybersecurity problems last year, according to a report about China's internet development released Wednesday.

A total of 47.4 percent of internet users surveyed said they did not encounter any cybersecurity problems in the last six months, registering an increase of 17.9 percentage points from 2016.

There were 20.85 million domain names ending with ".cn" last year, up 1.2 percent from the end of 2016, said the report released by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC).

Internet infrastructure including access ports, mobile phone base stations, and internet data centers improved steadily in China, said the report.
