A military technical team from the People’s Republic of China has returned home after visiting the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).

This was confirmed to the Fiji Sun by RFMF Chief Staff Officer Co-ordination Captain Eroni Duaibe.

When asked to elaborate on the visit, he said the team visited the Black Rock Camp in Nadi and the Queen Elizabeth Barracks (QEB) in Nabua.

He declined to comment on the extent of discussions between the team and Fijian military, but said the RFMF was thankful for the visit because it strengthened military ties.

The team, he said, was made up of six officers from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and led by a Senior Colonel, the equivalent rank to Brigadier in the RFMF.

Capt Duaibe said the military ties between Fiji and China are very strong.
