BEIJING, Aug. 1 (ChinaMil) -- It is learnt on July 31st from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) that China has primarily developed a broad spectrum of military aviation products which meets market demand since its 40 years' reform and opening-up.
The exports have been upgraded into the third-generation aircraft such as the JF-17, the L-15 and the Wing Loong from the traditional second-generation aircraft like the Q-5, the K-8 and the J-7.
The exports range has also been extended from fighters and trainers to transport aircraft, helicopters, drones, special operations aircraft as well as even airborne weapon and equipment.
According to the past ten years' contract statistics published by the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), China's aviation industry has achieved institutionalized export of the main aircraft models with an average annual turnover of 1.5 billion to 2 billion US dollars. A total number of over 30 aircraft models, nearly 2,000 aircraft, and more than 1,000 guided munitions have been exported.
Among the exported products, the J-8 fighter jet accounts for 70 percent of the global market share for the same generation products, the JF-17 has become the backbone of Pakistan's air defense, and the Wing Loong can compete with other advanced equipment around the globe.
It is reported that China's military trade began 40 years ago, and has now achieved an export turnover of 25 billion US dollars with customers from nearly 60 countries and regions, and 17 strategy markets and pillar markets of military aviation trade.
