BANGKOK, Jan. 7 (ChinaMil) -- On the morning of January 3, local time, the opening ceremony of the China-Thailand “Joint Strike-2019” anti-terrorism exercise was held at the International Center for Counterterrorism Action (ICCA) in Bangkok, Thailand. The Thai army sent 100 counter-terrorism military elites to this 13-day exercise, and the Chinese side dispatched 60 elite service members from a special operations brigade of the Army in the PLA Southern Theater Command.

The joint training exercise consists of two stages: mixed professional training and comprehensive actual-combat exercise. It focuses on the commanding and decision-making exercise for staff officers, anti-terrorism training and comprehensive rescue exercise for special operations forces. The joint exercise involves such subjects as sector searching, breaking into rooms, reconnaissance and alert, close combat, sniping operation, and fast roping. This exercise is aimed to strengthen military exchange between China and Thailand and enhance their counter-terrorism training and capacity.
