WAU, South Sudan, Nov.16 -- The Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent to South Sudan treated an injured Russian engineer who fell down from a height of 6 meters accidentally when conducting regular helicopter maintenance at the Wau airport in South Sudan on November 6, local time.

The Chinese contingent sent a team to pick up the injured engineer from the airport, who had suffered from shoulder dislocation and right lower limb fracture. He was transferred to the hospital, where he was treated in a timely manner.

Considering that injuries caused by falling may easily lead to compound conditions, the contingent made a detailed treatment plan. They performed debridement and suture on the external injuries and fixated the fracture with plaster.

At present, the Chinese medics are closely monitoring the engineer and preparing for further treatment.
