BEIJING, March 7-- Feng Wei, a Y-20 pilot, is the deputy commander of an aviation regiment of the air force under the PLA Western Theater Command. As a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), he suggested that civil aviation airports could pre-install support facilities for military aircraft.

Feng did careful investigation and research and prepared his proposals for this year’s NPC session in the spare time apart from conducting routine training and performing air transportation tasks.

One is about the centralized, unified and efficient utilization of the strategic projection capabilities. Feng proposed that the ideas and systems concerning strategic projection need to adapt to the growing scales of the large heavy transport aircraft.

The other is on the pre-installation of some support facilities for military transport aircraft at major civil aviation airports. Feng held that military transportation aircraft’s safe landing and take-off and sound logistics support at the civil airport is a systematic project, which requires big efforts of personnel charging task planning, aircraft scheduling, personnel allocation, etc.
