Editor's note: At the "two sessions" each year, NPC deputies and CPPCC members from Chinese armed forces actively put forward bills, proposals and suggestions. We are launching the "NPC deputies and CPPCC members from the military" series, telling stories of some military service persons in fulfilling their duties as NPC deputies or CPPCC members. The following is the fifth story of the series.

BEIJING, March 11 -- Lieutenant Colonel Wang Fang, vice-commander of a support team under the Joint Operational Commanding Center of the PLA’s Central Theater Command, has been consecutively a deputy to the 12th and 13th National People's Congress (NPC). During the ten years as an NPC deputy, she has visited more than 150 military and civil units at grassroots level, and submitted 8 proposals, co-signed more than 30 motions and suggestions, three of which have been adopted by national authorities. Development of the grassroots units and benefits of soldiers have always been the focus of all her proposals.

In June 2020, Wang Fang was appointed vice-commander of a support team under the Joint Operational Commanding Center of the Central Theater Command. Before taking this new position, she had participated in more than 30 communications support missions in manjor events of the nation and the military, including the military parade in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of PLA in 2017, the military parade in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC in 2019, SCO member states’ joint exercises, and cross-regional maneuver training exercises staged by the Central Theater Command, etc.
