TASHKENT, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Armed forces of Uzbekistan and India held a joint military drill "Friendship-2022" at the Yangiaryk combined training ground in the northwestern Khorezm region, the Uzbek Defense Ministry press service said on Thursday.
During the joint tactical drill "the military personnel of the two countries liquidated a breakthrough of militants of a conditional terrorist group across the border in the desert area," the ministry said.
The Uzbek defense ministry used combat helicopters at the third stage of the exercises, it added.
This is the third joint tactical drill that the two countries have held since 2019.
