北京，6月6日 -- 6月4日10时30分许，贵阳北至广州南的D2809次旅客列车行驶在贵广线榕江站进站前的月寨隧道口时，撞上突发溜坍侵入线路的泥石流。
BEIJING, June 6 -- A bullet train, D2809 from Guiyang North to Guangzhou South, was hit by mud and rockslide, being about to go through the Yuezhai Tunnel, and derailed at about 10:30 a.m. on June 4.
经调查人员对车载数据分析后发现，司机杨勇在事故发生前觉察到行车线路异常，立即在5秒钟内采取了紧急制动措施，此后列车减速滑行900多米，避免了更大程度的人员和财产损失。杨勇在事故中不幸殉职。
An analysis of data on the train by the investigators shows that Yang Yong, the train driver, took emergency braking measures within 5 seconds when he detected the abnormality of the railway line as the train was in a tunnel. The train then slid at low speed for more than 900 meters, avoiding even greater casualties or property damage. Yang, however, died in the accident.
杨勇，1993年参军入伍，1996年退役，曾服役于武警海南总队海口支队第二中队。在部队服役期间，曾担任班长，曾记嘉奖、获评优秀士兵。
The driver Yang Yong was a veteran soldier. He once served in the PAP Hainan Corps from 1993 to 1996. During his service in the troops of the People’s Armed Police Force (PAP), he had been a squad leader and was rated as an Outstanding Soldier.
退役回到地方后，他先后任代务副司机、副司机、工长、司机、指导司机、地勤司机、动车司机等职。目前，杨勇生前所在地的退役军人事务部门正协助家属做好善后事宜。
After retirement from active service, Yang served as acting co-driver, assistant driver, foreman, driver instructor, ground driver, and train driver in succession. At present, the local Veterans Affairs Department where Yang settled down is assisting his families to cope with the aftermath of the accident.
