BEIJING, June 10 -- China's first indigenously-built 100-ton-class unmanned vessel successfully completed its virgin autonomous sea trial in sea area off Zhoushan on June 7, which marked new breakthroughs in the autonomous navigation and intelligent engine room technologies of unmanned vessel in China.
Adopting trimaran design, the vessel can sail at a maximum speed of more than 20 knots. With a displacement of about 200 tons, it can sail normally in Sea State 5 and safely in Sea State 6.
