CAPE TOWN, South Africa, Aug. 23 -- The Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony-2024, arrived in South Africa on Thursday. During the seven-day goodwill visit, it will provide medical service there. This is the first time the ship Peace Ark has visited South Africa.
In addition to providing medical service, medical expert teams of the Peace Ark will carry out joint treatment in local hospitals, and conduct dedicated academic exchanges on traditional Chinese medicine in the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape.
Members of the hospital ship will also conduct cultural exchanges in local schools, and hold friendly basketball and tug-of-war games with South African military members.
