BEIJING, Apr. 12 -- The 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) conducted joint medical rescue drill with its counterparts from Spain, Serbia, France, Indonesia and other countries to enhance medical rescue capability in emergency.

The joint medical drill was set in the context of a traffic accident encountered by the patrol convoy of the Spanish peacekeeping troops. The simulated traffic accident caused several wounded, and the Chinese and Spanish peacekeeping hospitals jointly conducted reception and evacuation, on-site first aid and in-hospital treatment.

Upon receiving the task, the Chinese peacekeeping hospital dispatched ambulances and medical personnel to the accident site and conducted triage, hemostasis, bandage-fixing and wounded evacuation. After two hours of intense drills, they completed all items of the joint treatment.

Since its deployment in mid-December last year, the Chinese medical contingent has completed multiple drills involving emergency evacuation and emergency defense. Furthermore, the peacekeepers have received over 900 patients in total, provided free clinic service for more than 300 local people, and donated more than 7,000 boxes of medicines of all kinds.
