MALI, Oct. 12 -- Brigadier General Guillaume PONCHIN, chief of the general staff of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), accompanied by five others, visited the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Base Defense Unit to MINUSMA on October 10 and conducted pre-withdrawal inspection and investigation.
The inspection team learned about the risks of security threats to the defense of the super camp in Sector East during the withdrawal, and assessed the handover of defense tasks and preparations for withdrawal. After the visit, Brig. Gen. Guillaume Ponchin spoke highly of the performance of the Chinese peacekeeping contingent.
