XI'AN, Oct. 22 -- Recently, the 2024 Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) Science Popularization Contest was held in Xi'an City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The participants demonstrated the latest achievements of national defense technology innovation through various forms such as multimedia presentations and on-site interactions.
At the final, 60 contestants from the troops, scientific research institutes, medical and health care facilities and other military units conducted science popularization and presentation under the theme of "advocating the spirit of scientists and stimulating innovation".
The contest consisted of three parts: self-introduction, presentation and answering judges' questions. Several well-known academicians and experts from both military and civilian sectors were invited to serve as judges. After intensive competition, six contestants won the first class award.
The contestants' presentations closely focused on the build-up of combat capability and combat preparedness, demonstrating the fruitful achievements of national defense technology innovation in the new era.
