KUNMING, March 13 (ChinaMil) -- A total of 216 soldiers from the PLA Army's 75th Group Army under the Southern Theater Command departed Monday morning from Kunming, capital city of southwest China's Yunnan province for Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, to participate in a joint anti-terrorism training.
The 17-day joint training between the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) dubbed “Golden Dragon 2018” is to be held in Kampong Speu province of Cambodia from March 15 to 31with the theme of joint anti-terrorism and humanitarian rescue.
The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) will send 280 soldiers to the joint training.
Together with the Chinese participating troops to Cambodia were more than 40 sets of equipment including infantry fighting vehicles, rotor unmanned reconnaissance aircraft and transport helicopters.
The year of 2018 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cambodia diplomatic relationships. The joint training, as an important activity in the exchange program between the Chinese and Cambodian militaries in this year, is of great significance for deepening state and military exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
The participating troops from the two countries will have training of such professional subjects as anti-terror equipment operating, light weapons live-fire practice, unarmed wrestle, simulated airborne landing, penetrating maneuver, man hunting and searching.
